After performing research on such a broad topic and trying to narrow down information to get to the good, juicy details you really want to include, you will learn a lot. Regardless, you may only present a certain number of that information, you now have the knowledge of all of it because not only did you find it, you had to read and understand it to find the good, worthy parts. Through these techniques, this project has completely changed my prospective on medicine as a whole. I’ve always had interest and have valued and cared for the world of health and sciences but after going back and seeing how much things have changed, I have a new found appreciation for what we have today. Now-a-days we never realize how fortunate we are for everything we have and how different things could be. As a society and even myself, we take things for granted in every day life but especially when looking into the medical world. There’s things like contact lenses to see or taking an advil for any pain we may have that were perfected over time to work to the best they can now but think about a time where they were just creating the basics and how much these things have changed out lives. This is what I hope my readers take away from my works, about how medicine has changed, evolved and developed. I also hope readers also take away from how the information was presented just as much as I did. The multi-genre research project took a whole different approach to showing your viewers the information you have obtained compared to a plain factual paper. It allowed you to not just research information and spit it back into a re-organized way but to actually put the research into an interesting and attention-drawing form. When someone reads a research paper, they are reading cited fact after cited fact and creating their own image of what the person is trying to get across in their writing; this project allowed me to draw the image for them through created writing yet still based on factual evidence. I couldn’t have completed this project without performing the research and having the facts, but once reading through and understanding my gathered information I was able to shape it into how I wanted to portray it. I hope the audience took away from that and possibly even learned how to creative write the way I did and see a different area of literature and composition. It believe this form of assignment was the best way to really get us researchers and writers to really relay the topics we wanted to present and show to the readers.
